Recent runway and terminal expansion at Madrid airport has seen an explosion in Madrid low cost airlines providing services throughout the Spanish peninsula, Europe and North Africa.

2007 and 2008 have seen a low fare war between both legacy carriers and new and established low cost airlines serving Spain. The cheap airline tickets on offer have seen a number of bargain airfares in the Spanish market and flights can be as low as 30€ incluiding all taxes if booked well in advance.

Madrid Terminal allocation

The inaguration in 2006 of the new terminal 4 at Madrid Barajas airport allowed space to be freed up within the central terminal complex so allowing Madrid low cost airlines to move into dedicated check-in facilities. The following is the airline to terminal relationship for all the low fares airlines serving Madrid (T1= Terminal 1 etc...):

NOTE: Moving between Terminals 1, 2 and 3 is a simple walk of a maximum 15 minutes however changing between terminals 1,2 &3 with terminal 4 involves and Bus or Metro transfer and can take up to 45 minutes at peak times. If changing terminals add this time into your travel plans
