Atletico Madrid Bolton Wanderers in the 2nd leg of the round of 32 in the 2007-08 Uefa cup saw the Vincente Calderon populated with over 3000 Wanderers fans who made the trip from England. Defending a narrow 1-0 lead from the first leg Bolton held out for a nil - nil draw and went through to the last 16 of the competition.

Plaza Mayor was taken over by Wanderers fans throughout the afternoon. A few beers and a sing song...

So much sing song that they even had the typical buskers playing for them....

For those wanting to put their feet up there was an obvious bar to head to...

Of course the city center fountain in Sol didn´t get away unscathed...

Anything to try and sell one of these, ahem, "limited edition" scarves!

Pre match the bars in Paseo de Patones do a roaring trade with both Atleti and Bolton fans...

The Atletico Madrid Ultras ready to give the teams their own brand of welcome!!!

3 minutes into the game and the first flare goes off.

There were a number of problems between the Ultras and the Spanish police during the game and in protest the Frente parted and left the central part of the stand empty. Initial reports are that this was due to heavy handed policing of the Frente before the game and an incident in the toilets of the stadium....

To the victors go the spoils... best of luck to Bolton in the rest of the competition...
